Orange Chocolate Chip Biscotti
Ingredients
- 1/2 a cup of butter
- 1 and 3/4 of a cup of all purpose flour
- 3/4 of a cup of almonds, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 of a cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- zest of 1 orange
Preparation
- Melt the butter in the microwave (1 minute) and set side to cool down while preparing the rest of the recipe
- Mix all the dry ingredients (Except for the sugar) in a medium size bowl (flour, almonds,chocolate chips, baking powder)
- On a separate bowl mix the butter with the wet ingredients + sugar (eggs, vanilla, orange zest)
- Slowly add dry ingredients into the butter mixture, using a rubber spatula.
- Sprinke your countertop or board with flour and, with floured hands, make 2 balls, rool into snakes and place on a ungreased baking sheet.
- Flatten with your hands and bake for 350F for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it sit for 2 minutes
- Slice on a angle into bars and flip each bar into its side, separating a bit from others, so they don't touch eachother.
- Bake for another 8 minutes
- Remove from oven and let cool completely on baking sheet before storing in a tin
